Dear Phil
We would be very grateful here in Skeheenarinky, for a mention
of a book we are compiling to celebrate the 150th anniversary
of the Skeheenarinky National School in 2008. The book is being
compiled by locals Ed O'Riordan and Karol DeFalco. It will be
published by the School Parent's Council.
We are trying to locate as many photographs as possible of
the school and the students who went there. We hoped your site
might be a place where Skeheenarinky School descendents would
read about our endeavours. We would also love to document any
stories that may have been passed down through the generations
regarding the school.
We can be contacted at ed_oriordan@eircom.net
Best regards from Galty Cottage, Skeheenarinky

Great to hear back from you.
Even though I live just a few miles from Ballylanders I have
never had the pleasure of meeting John Gallahue. One of these
days! I do have John's 'Galtees Anthology' so I know well who
he is. I actually found your website many moons ago while doing
local searches.
My partner, Karol, is from the USA and she has a Ballylanders
ancestor named Keating!
It would great to get a mention on your website that we are
looking for pictures or anecdotes regarding the school at Skeheenarinky.
I imagine there are people in Australia who went to school there,
and they might wander into your site some day and make contact
with us that way. When you are coming to Ireland again be sure
to let us know. We would enjoy meeting up with you. To think
you might be able to mention Skeheenarinky on TV is exciting.
I look forward to hearing about your television work.
Best regards
Ed
